As the sun rises over the town of Battambang so do the sounds. Starting with birds and insects, shortly followed by prayer blasted over loudspeaker and the honks of traffic and the rumble of the bamboo railroad not far behind.
Our bamboo railroad conductor patiently waits for traffic to pass on the busy tracks. This wasn't the only time we were forced from the railway, once it was to avoid a massive freight engine, and another because Claus managed to crash it…
